At the first edition of the new Wandersalon event series, Henrike Naumann spoke about her artistic works to date at Dortmund's Theater im Depot. The artist is dedicated to the everyday reality in East Germany after 1989 and reflects on the history of right-wing extremist violence in Germany. She is interested in the mechanisms of radicalization and their connections with personal experience and youth culture. Naumann investigates whether interactions exist between the formation of political opinion and the development of personal aesthetic taste – or, more specifically, between interior design and politics. In recent years, she has expanded her focus to include the global interconnectedness of youth culture and the inversion of cultural “othering.”
