Andreas Gursky

The German visual artist Andreas Gursky (*1955) is known for his large format architecture and landscape color photographs. He was strongly influenced by his teachers, Bernd and Hilla Becher, when he studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the 1980s. Solo shows were hold, amongst others, at the Milwaukee Art Museum, the New York MoMA, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Centre Pompidou, Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, Sharjah Art Museum. His works were exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia and at the Biennale of Sydney.
