The artist duo M+M works at the interface between fine arts and film. M+M partly interferes bizarrely in cross-linked living areas like highways, climate or the inside of the human body. In the past five years, cinematic surround-installations have been at the center, linking narrative fragments without a fixed chronological order freely. Thus, the viewer turns into a flaneur who is able to watch the film in any order.
After studying history of art and starting the mutual artistic work in 1994, M+M received a scholarship at the Villa Massimo in Rome, followed by a scholarship in the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles. From 2001 until 2002, they were Professors at the Zurich Academy of Design and Art, 2008 Visiting Professors at the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf. M+M participated in numerous international solo and group exhibitions and screenings during the past years.
