Anna Witt’s performative interventions and video installations deal with the construction of cultural stereotypes and positioning the individual within social systems. Her works may be of a fictional as well as of a documentary character. The artist studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München (Academy of Fine Arts Munich) and with Monica Bonvicini in Vienna. In 2005 Anna Witt received a scholarship from the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. In 2008, she was awarded the Pfann-Ohman Förderpreis (Award) of the Diploma Group Bonvicini. Recently the artist received a state scholarship for Video- and Media Arts in Austria in 2010.
